Import and export Outlook or other calendars
Copy events with ICS files and understand what does not sync.
- 1
Export an ICS file from your calendar provider using its export/download tools. Ensure you are permitted to transfer the event details.
- 2
In Calendar, choose Import ICS and select an .ics file under 2 MB.
- 3
Review the event preview and destination time zone. Select the entries you want, read any skipped-entry explanations, then choose Import selected.
- 4
Existing event identifiers are skipped rather than overwritten. The result shows how many were imported or skipped.
- 5
Use Export month for the displayed month, Export all for the complete supported calendar, or Export event inside an existing event.
- 6
Import the resulting ICS file into Outlook, Google Calendar or Apple Calendar using that provider’s file-import feature.
Good to know
- This copies events; later edits do not sync in either direction, and importing does not send invitations.
- Recurring series from external ICS files are not supported by this importer. Export individual occurrences if your provider allows it.
- An import that stops partway keeps its successful records and lets you retry the remaining selection.
